Packing, Packing, Gone

I spent the majority of Mother's day packing, and I still have so much to do before I move out. It's absolutely crazy how much stuff I actually have, and I'm not sure how I'm going to pack it all up tonight. But since I managed to fit (almost) all my clothes into two suitcases, I am feeling pretty good about my packing abilities. Having a few chocolate malt balls to reward my hard work is very helpful too.
Some were shared with my roommate and floormate too
After packing, getting dinner, and skyping, I realized that it was already 11:15 and I hadn't worked out yet. Even though it was late I knew I would feel guilty if I didn't do something because I had all day free. So I headed down to Marks Hall Gym again and did a quick 25 minutes on the elliptical. I forgot to look at what the resistance was, but it was definitely a higher level than yesterday. I'm really trying to get in the habit of working out more, and I felt really relieved once I finished.
Since I couldn't think of a clever way to transition from yesterday to today... Here's a watermelon.  NOM

Today, I went to they Lyon Center after my dance final. I didn't really have a plan so I just went on the elliptical for 20 minutes at a resistance of 9. Then I decided to attempt some weights with bicep curls (20 each arm with a weight of 8 pounds), Tricep drop (8 pounds-16, 5 pounds-20), and then brought my arms up to chin level in front of me, down, shoulder level to the side (10 times), then I did the inner and outer thigh machine thing (the really awkward one) 20 times each way (60 pounds pushing in/40 pushing out), and then the glute press for 10 times each leg with 40 pounds.
I did this three times, but ended up using 5 pound dumbbells for the second and third intervals because my original eight pound weights were taken when I went to go get them again.
After I cooled down with ten minutes of jogging/walking on the treadmill, before biking back to my dorm.

Sorry about how non technical my descriptions are. My workout was taught to me by a friend, so I just did what I remembered without knowing the names of anything. I actually had to look up what a bicep curl was called haha. I should have probably known at least that one.

And some exciting news... I have officially moved out of the dorms! I can't believe freshmen year is over, it went by so fast. Luckily I live pretty close to USC, so I'm driving back tomorrow night for dinner to say all my official goodbyes.
After I cleared out, packed, and cleaned my room

And now I'm sad cause I realized I won't live in dorm ever again. And my brother is just an odd one:)
My brother and Dad were amazing and took everything I packed to the car. I don't think my brother enjoyed it as much as I did though.

Elliptical Emotions

I'm finally done with all things academic for freshmen year! Now, the only thing that stands in the way of summer is a vocabulary test on Monday for my jazz class. Well that and packing up my entire room... which is an absolute mess right now. But we can always leave that til tomorrow, right?

Instead I am doing something of much greater importance--skyping this guy!
Thank you!!
And since Scott put up with me using screenshots of him, here is a picture I like I know he likes :)

Anyway after being super busy all week, I finally got the chance to workout. I have a ton of shows on hulu that I was dying to catch up on also, so I grabbed my laptop and went down to the Mark's Hall gym. I watched the latest episode of Bones (I've seen almost every episode, and I am obsessed) while I did a pretty easy 50 minutes on the elliptical.

They are too cute for me to handle and they're not even together yet
Before I continue, I need to explain something--I am a crier. All types of movies from The Notebook to Star Trek (the dad dies in the beginning!) have the potential to make me tear up. Ends up that this made the last ten minutes of working out very difficult because the LIVE victim in bones was a little girl who had been kidnapped and abused was going to find her real loving parents. Even though I fought it, I teared up on the elliptical, which was not the cutest thing I have ever done. Lucky for me the only other person in the basement was a guy doing his laundry, so I don't think anyone saw. It was worth it because this episode was SO good.

T minus 2 days until I am done with dorm food!
Things I will NOT miss: watery pasta, mystery sauces, not fresh veggies, untouchable Mexican food, and basically all lunch and dinner options
Things I will miss: grilled turkey burgers, soft serve ice cream, panini maker, and not having to make my own breakfast

Since the year is coming to an end, expect a recap of my freshmen years with lots and lots of pictures!

PS I was going to make the title Sweat, Tears, and Bones but it sounded to gruesome. Oops!

Меня зовут Юля (My name is Julia)

Hi everyone! In case you didn't know, finals officially start tomorrow, and to put it mildly I am stressed. I have my Russian final tomorrow, Law final on Thursday, Geology final on Friday, and a Poetry take home final due Saturday. Oh, and Monday I have my dance class final, but that doesn't actually count  ;)

Whenever I tell people that I am taking Russian, I always get asked why since it is a fairly unusual language to take (there's only 7 people in my class). And to be honest, I have no real answer. I am not Russian (even though sometimes I wish I was just for fun haha), and my interest in Russia was a pretty random discovery. I finally decided to go for it in college after years of Spanish in high school because I took a Russian literature class that I loved and a Russian food seminar where I became very close to the professor. Even though I am complaining on the video*, I really do love the class and my professor. It was such a good decision, and that class is a ton of fun. Finals are not.
My Mom is convinced that I took Russian because I dressed up as a Russian Mail Order Bride for Halloween in high school. False! But the costume was awesome

*For those wondering, I am saying "Hello (informal), my name is Julia and I don't like Russian right now. I don't know anything. Mah (haha a noise I make a tad to often). Goodbye!" I'm only in my first semester of Russian with no previous background so no judging too harshly on my speaking skills!

So sorry in advance if this post isn't too long. I've been pretty lazy about working out because this is the final stretch for my grades, but I did simply walk on the treadmill at an incline of 15 and slow speed of 3-3.5 for 30 minutes...while reviewed ending adjectives for Russian of course. Woo! Multi-tasking.

The bummer about studying this week (besides the obvious) is that it is 90 degrees today and I'm stuck inside. Oh well, at least summer is only a week away!

I want summer!
Fun recap about this past weekend, I had a sorority invite on Friday. The theme was luau and my boyfriend Scott and I had a really great time. We took a very veryyy cheap party bus to In'n'Out-yum-and then went to get on the buses to take us to the location that ended up being in Hermosa, only 20 minutes away from where I live.

Alright now it's back to reality and studying. Oh, and maybe catching up on a Desperate Housewives episode too. You know procrastinating rewarding hard work. Dasvadanya!
