A Day with the Boyfriend

There's no normal updates today because I spent the whole day with Scott and did not bother bringing my camera everywhere. Except for, you know, normal couple pictures :)

Well, kinda normal couple pictures

I drove out to seem him today, and even though I usually don't mind driving in general, it's so much better when the majority of the drive looks like this.
And this is a picture I actually took. No google images this time haha

I'm going for a run tomorrow though, so we'll see how that goes. And apparently my brother has to make a geometric cake (not including square, rectangle, triangle, or circle) for extra credit--I know best EC ever--so prepare to hear my his brilliant idea soon haha. Bye!

Lazy Day

Today was the laziest day ever. I did nothing (even though I was supposed to work out), and just hung out around the house. Even though it was nice just to relax and lay around, I am done doing that for a very long time. I actually feel a little guilty for not working out, but that's ok. I might do some sit ups before bed just for fun.
Anyways, the one notable thing that happened today (besides catching up on all my TV shows... Eeee Bones!) was that I made really easy sugar cookies! Does anyone recognize a pattern here ?

The recipe for this was kinda just created on the spot because I was lacking a few ingredients. But basically what you need is
- about 2/3 cups of flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup butter a little less than 1/4 of smart balance butter and 2 spoonfuls of greek yogurt
- about 1/3 cup sugar
- a little vanilla extract
- one egg
The replacements
I just mixed it all together in beat it till it became dough. I really didn't want to make a lot of cookies, and this recipe only makes 12 cookies so it was perfect. I baked it in the oven at 375 degrees for 8 minutes and then took them out to cool.
On the side, I took a tiny bit of the smart balance butter and melted it in the microwave. I mixed in cinnamon and brown sugar in order to create a really small amount of thick liquid.
I used the sugar to add little hearts to all the cookies because I am so full of loveeeee. Aww, how cute. But seriously, I felt very creative.
Sorry the recipe wasn't very specific, but you can't really go wrong.

And now it is time for me to get ready for bed and tomorrow! Buenos noches!

Tan Lines and Frozen Yogurt

Today I woke up bright and early to workout to drive my brother to high school. Apparently he needed a ride this morning, and I had to wake up an hour earlier than I planned to do it. I was not in the best mood because it was just one of those days where you bed is super comfy and your pillow is just perfect. So once I was back home, I crawled back into bed and pushed back the time I was supposed to meet Ali to 10:00. Still counts as a morning workout!

We decided to run at the beach on the strand (a sidewalk that runs along the beach) and started at Torrance Beach and ran to the Redondo Beach pier and back--a little over a 3.5 mile run.The strand has markings every quarter mile, and the run to the pier was about 1.85 more or less. After running to the pier, Ali and I turned around to head back. We walked for a half mile and then ran the rest of the 1.25 to the end. I was a little disappointed that I didn't run the whole thing through, but we still ran the equivalent of a 5k which is a good start to preparing for my goal.
The strand! Luckily it was not this busy today
Country club attire. So shmancy.
I'm surprised at how I can already feel myself get a little bit sore, but that's probably because when I worked out at USC I stuck to machines like the elliptical, and if I went running it was a consistent 2 miles. Another thing that really surprised me is that I have a HUGE sports bra tan line from just today. I was outside (including non workout time) for only a little over an hour and I have a very noticeable tan that did not match my cute outfit haha. Oh well, I am excited that it's officially become the season of tan lines.

After my workout I rinsed off, and got ready to go meet my dad and grandpa at the country club for lunch (my grandpa is a member). I ordered the "Club 3301" which was basically a toasted sandwich with turkey, bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomatoes, and other yummy stuff. It was so good, but it was huge and I ended up giving some to my grandpa. Excuse the bad picture, it was taken on my phone which has really bad quality. I don't have a smart phone, so this is actually the best I could take.

Jessica had her AP test today so I took her to Yogurtland after (which she ended up paying for...whoo! sister with the job pays). I love frozen yogurt! Their cinnamon graham cracker flavor is so good. I get tons of flavors and toppings when I go since it's a serve yourself, so I also got a little bit of strawberry, strawberry cheesecake, and vanilla. Then lots of fruit, few cheesecake pieces (I always get 5 pieces because I can't resist them), and some butterfinger powder (ish).
And I know that sounds like an insane amount, but I promise it wasn't that much and it's is totally worth my obsession.
See the cup's not allll the way full. NOM
Exciting news: Only 2 more days until I see Scott!

Ok that's all the exciting parts of today, and it's late. Night!

Fire trails and the (lack) of Green Goo

Last night, I slept over at a friends house with my two friends Carly and Sophie. So this morning consisted of fighting for covers, eating a Trader Joe's bagel and granola for breakfast, and watching the Biggest Loser which made remembered how much I loved that show. I haven't watched an episode since last season, and I remembered how emotional I get watching it. I love Jillian! I want her to come yell at me ;)

After coming home for a bit, I went to Ali's house and her, my friend Sophie and I went on a run around her neighborhood which included the fire trail and running past the golf course. The fire trail is an old street that used to be an emergency shortcut for the fire department (I think). It's an absolutely beautiful trail that overlooks the ocean, and has tons of flowers, trees, and plants along it. However, the run turned more into a hike/walk when we ended up wanting to talk more, and not run up a killer uphill or through a small field. We got back to her house a while later, and were starving.

Since Ali's parents were out of town and she claims she has been eating only poached eggs for dinner the past few nights, We all went shopping to go make dinner.

Can't you just see the inspiration in us? or the dog in the backseat (look closely)

Shopping for food!

We decided to make turkey burgers and salad. I was in charge of the turkey burgers, and I decided to try to be creative by putting cheese in the middle. I felt very resourceful. Maybe I was feeling inspired from this week's Biggest Loser challenge (Did anyone else watch it?). Except I didn't use green goo to spice mine up.
Although it looked a bit plain, it actually tasted pretty good. And I only called my mom once in a panic because I couldn't figure out why they weren't cooking through... ends up all I needed was time haha. Oh well, you guys know I'm still working on this cooking thing. We used a plain bagel thin for the turkey burger bun. I wasn't in charge of the salad, but I know Ali made the dressing (I saw olive oil and spices go into it, but that's all I can give you... I was having a mini crisis with my burgers) and threw craisans, dried bananas, and lots of other goodies into the salad. It was SO good.

For dessert, I had a some of these little cookies, and stayed over a bit longer to hang out some more and watch TV. Just so you know, Man V. Food is one of the most depressing shows out there. I was in shock watching it.

On a different note, I can't wait for my siblings to get done with school too! I'm starting to get bored in the house by myself. Night, everyone!
