"I only go clubbing on Sundays"

Today started out with some bad news: I have decided I officially have the worst luck in the world when it comes to cameras. After breaking my last one, I bought a new camera just 3 weeks ago to replace it. My new camera was working perfectly last night, but when I woke up this morning it wouldn't work. I realized my sister had moved it and somehow in the process it had gotten wet or damaged (I'm being very mature and am not mad since she had no idea that anything had even happened to it).

I think my family felt bad for me because my mom was reluctant nice enough to let me use her camera for the day and my youngest brother James made me a "happy smoothie" to cheer me up. I don't know exactly what he put in it, but I know it included bananas and frozen strawberries! Oh, and I also had bowl of honey nut cheerios and an apple with cheese for breakfast.

I knew I would use the umbrellas eventually!
Lunch was a tuna salad sandwich with avocado and lettuce, and dinner was just spaghetti with cucumber shavings and parmesan cheese. I snacked a lot before dinner (protein bar, chips, peanut butter, cucumber...the works haha) so I wasn't really hungry for anything more.

Except my Mom's homemade brownies. I will always be hungry for that.

I met up with my friend Ali (my estranged running buddy--we've missed each other since I left for Hawaii and she left for Mammoth when I got back) to go for a run this afternoon. However, she suggested that we just walk and talk. We did our typical loop by the fire trail and ended up walking for about an hour. It was a super great day out, and it was nice to just get outside and enjoy the sunshine.
I don't think I enjoyed it as much as Roxy did... she is too cute!

Remember how I said I was heading to a concert this weekend? We headed up to LA to see The White Panda, DJs who make remixes and who Scott is obsessed with (I really like them too, but he is the one who showed me them to begin with and knows all the songs). I was expecting it to be more of show/concert like thing, but it ended up being a club scene. I probably should have seen that coming since it was at the Key Club in Westwood.

Even though we were probably the youngest some of the younger people there, we ended up having an amazing time. I definitely count all the dancing as a workout! Plus, nothing feels cooler than saying you went clubbing on a Sunday night. Since this was our first experience at an actual club/bar (joys of being under 21), we know say that we only go clubbing on Sundays.
It was so much fun, and another great part of the weekend.
Oh and new goal is to get to bed earlier because I'm posting this wayyyy too late at night.

Happy 4th of July-SoCal Style

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone had an amazing holiday! I know I had a really fun day!

I met with a bunch of friends to head down to Hermosa Beach for another beach day (I love summer). The weather was perfect, and the beach was packed and crazy. Hermosa beach consisted of a huge crowd of mainly high school students, college students, and twenty something-year-olds celebrating the 4th of July.  Just so you get an idea about how many people were there...

The best way to celebrate 4th of July? Dress ridiculously American.

The group!

Nothing says Fourth of July like a day at the beach decked out in red, white, and blue.

Beach Day

Yesterday and today have been the most summery two days ever. Last night, I went to BBQ/bonfire with friends that basically screamed summer. We had all the summer foods: hot dogs, veggies, salads, and s'mores...all while eating outside.

S'mores please
All the girls
By the way, this is my absolute best friend Sarah. Being the great influence I am and with my persuasion (yes, I'm going to take credit for it),  Sarah has started her own blog just today. So if you're interested in fashion and adorable things (the dress I'm wearing in the picture and that I'm obsessed with is borrowed from her), you should check it out!

Today, was a beach day!

I was actually woken up this morning (unhappily) for a family, quick trip to the beach. We stayed for about an hour and half, and while my sister surfed and my parents went for a walk. I just swam with my little brother in the water after falling back asleep on the sand didn't work. It was actually my first time in the ocean since Hawaii, and it was a bit shocking diving under that first wave.  Luckily, it was really warm once I got used to it.

For breakfast, I had a piece of toast with peanut butter, cinnamon, and a little bit of brown sugar. It was delicious. I later made myself a simple bean and cheese burrito with chicken for lunch. Both pictures turned out very unattractive, so I'll follow my usual rule of making them a smaller size so no one will actually see them.

After heading back home and eating, I met up with Sarah to head to the beach for a second time.

By this time it was much more crowded and we had to park a billion miles away. We tanned and went swimming for a few hours before deciding to go....to Yogurtland.
I'm a tad obsessed.
This is an old picture, but it was essentially the same: so many toppings that you can't see the froyo
I'm counting all my walking around (and swimming) as my workout for the day or at least label it as an active hangout. I'm also grouping the 20 minutes I walked the dog into this too hehe.

For dinner, my mom made cheeseburgers which we served on bagel thins.
They were really good, and there was someone who was very jealous of our meal...

Glass tables aren't as inconspicuous as Roxy might think

Find the lab!
She made her rounds to all of us, and ended up being pretty successful. James was the worst at ignoring her puppy dog eyes.

I'm already loving July so much. Seriously, nothing can beat beach days (but tomorrow might come pretty close). I'm going to be up late at a concert tomorrow with Scott, so I'm heading to bed. Night!

Start of my Birthday Month!

It's July! Which happens to be my favorite month ever. The weather is (usually) amazing, it's a full month of summer, and it's full of birthdays.

June was beyond amazing.
I went to Hawaii!

Where I swam with turtles and in waterfalls,
went ziplining,
went to a luau (and ate octopus), and had an absolutely great time.

Scott and I celebrated our anniversary in San Diego!

I officially signed up for the Mud Run!

What's going to happen in July:

- I'm going to turn 19!
- I'm going to run my first race ever!
- Jessica is going to be turning 17
- Fourth of July beach day
- And hopefully some hikes around LA that didn't happen last month
- and lots more:)

July started off with a run/walk with my friend Sarah, and then a BBQ at a friends house. For dinner, we had roasted veggies, salad, and hot dogs. After we made smores with her backyard firepit.

Even though there are no pictures for proof (I left my camera at home), it was a great start to the month!
