For breakfast I had 2 pieces of toast with Smart Balance.
Lunch was a BBQ chicken "pizza" with BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese, and leftover chicken on a tortilla. This was very so good that I tried to recreate it on toast, but it did not even compare in the least bit.

One good thing about my eats today is that I did not snack too much. I generally try to eat healthy meals that are normal sized, but a lot of times I just go crazy when it comes to snacking. Particularly in between lunch and dinner. I drank a lot of water (at least more than usual), kept myself busy, and found that my trips to blankly stare in the fridge were a lot less often. Mind you, I still did have a snack, but I felt healthier not returning again and again before dinner. I'm going to have to work on keeping that up.
Today I finally went for a run with Ali. The whole run was only about 2.25 miles round trip, but it was a pretty hard for a few reasons.
1) The first half is all...and I mean all... uphill. Some of the hills were pretty steep too with little to no flat breaks.
2) I was running without an ipod. Sadly, I have not been able to find my ipod since I've gotten back from Hawaii, even though I am positive it made it home. Despite my efforts to clean my room (I even got everything out from under the bed), I haven't been able to find it yet. I'm still going to wait a week or two before declaring it lost, so there is some hope. In the meantime, I will have to suffer by running in silence. I know a lot of runners enjoy running without music, but I am not one of those people.
My ipod is taking after my dear friend Waldo here. |
3) It was hot out! I went running at about 10 am, and it was already 86 degrees out. And I know that southern California does not actually get humid, but it was as humid as it gets this morning. I was not comfortable.
4) I haven't ran in awhile.
Ok, now that I've sufficiently complained enough about a run that most bloggers and readers could do in their sleep (and honestly that I should be able to do too), I can calmly say that I am really happy to start running again.
PS that list has contributed to some major loss of cool points. Because, you know, I had sooo many to begin with ;)
After a great day, it's time to go to bed! But I think I'll watch Grease clips on youtube one more time before I turn off the computer.
It makes me so happy!
I totally feel you girl -- running is tough! (I actually just posted about this, lol) and it's hard not to feel overwhelmed reading about all these marathon bloggers going on 4 mile runs in the morning. Jealous a little! But yeah, especially tough in hot weather and on uphill tracks. But we can DO it! YEUH.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find your iPod! I definitely am with you -- I hate running without music to cheer me on.
i think u did awesome! if i ate and exercised like that i would be the healthiest human alive!! and running is really hard but once you get over the running hump, running becomes easy!
